My career began in creative arts, working with young people using music and arts, plus the outdoors, in order to find the most accessible ways to support them to find their way through difficult times. I later gained experience working with people in their recovery from addictions and supporting people with neurological conditions (acquired brain injury and spinal chord injury) to make sense of life changing circumstances and find ways to continue pursuing the things in life that gave them meaning and purpose.

Throughout my career, I have worked in health and social care, both in statutory and non-governmental organisations. I qualified and registered as an occupational therapist, and my past experience has broadened my interest in all aspects of wellbeing, leading to further training and qualification as an integrative counsellor and massage therapist. I later qualified as a hypnotherapist when I found the huge benefits of using hypnosis both as a stand alone therapy, and alongside other forms of psychological therapies and medical treatment.

I believe in the strength of the therapeutic relationship, this forms a core part of my approach whilst working collaboratively with my clients. Sometimes during therapy it can be difficult to express the things we feel and experience with words alone and other forms of expression can be helpful.  I am experienced in a number of methods including: sand play, drumming, vocals, art etc.

I am accredited and registered with the relevant professional bodies, hold appropriate insurance, and follow the codes of conduct of my professional bodies, including committing to ongoing professional development and supervision.
